Suspended Ceiling C2-1 with Adjusting Bracket

In this article we explain how to install a suspended ceiling on two levels Technogips Pro C1-2 with Adjusting Bracket.

Products and tools you need:

  • Premium Profile CD 60
  • Adjusting Bracket
  • Drywall Screw TEX TN 4.2x13
  • CD connector
  • CD cross connector
  • Tape Measure
  • Level
  • Choke Line Marker
  • Tin Snips
  • Drywall Screwdriver

Here are the steps we followed:

It is necessary to determine in advance the level of the finished suspended ceiling and install the peripheral UD profiles. See more about the steps in this blog article.

After the installation of the peripheral profiles, it is time to mark the positions of the adjusting brackets on the main ceiling. With the help of a tape measure, pencil and choke line marker, we mark the axes on which we will mount the adjusting brackets and subsequently the main Premium profiles CD 60. We mark the first axis at a distance of max. 300 mm from the enclosing wall and each subsequent should be at a distance of 500-1200 mm depending on the weight of the drywall cladding. More information on sizing can be found on page 80 in the Technogips Pro System Catalog.

We proceed to the installation of the adjusting brackets to the main ceiling with a suitable fastener according to the type of the supporting ceiling. With a massive reinforced concrete slab ceiling, we recommend the use of the Anchor wedge 6x40/60 only. When installing the suspended structure on suspended ceilings, the use of a dowel or other cross element with a nylon dowel is not allowed, as this type of fasteners are not resistant to tension in case of fire.

The distance between the adjusting brackets must be in accordance with the weight of the future gypsum plasterboard cladding. The carrying capacity of the Adjusting Bracket is 0.4 kN or 40 kg/m2. More information on sizing and selecting a suitable hanger can be found on page 80 in the Technogips Pro System Catalog.

We continue with the sizing of the main Premium profiles CD 60. The total length of the profile must be 10 mm smaller than the size of the room in order to be able to linearly expand the profile and consequently to avoid cracking of the joints between the gypsum boards. If it is necessary to extend the main Premium profiles CD 60, it is necessary to use a CD connector.

The installation of the Premium profiles CD 60 to the Adjusting Bracket takes place after precise leveling in relation to the already determined level of the suspended ceiling. Drywall screw TEX TN 4.2x13 is used on each side of the profile to fix the Adjusting Bracket.

Then we proceed to the installation of the mounting profiles in the transverse direction to the main CD profiles. The cross-connection between the two profiles is made by using a two-level CD connection.

The distance between the mounting profiles must be 500 mm.

This step completes the installation of the two-level suspended ceiling structure Technogips Pro C2-1 with Adjusting Bracket.
