How to Build a Double-Layer Partition Wall Technogips Pro W1-2 with Titan Board?

In this article we explain how to quickly and easily build a double-layer partition wall Technogips Pro W1-2 with Titan Board.

Tools and products you need:

  • Titan Board DFH1IR
  • Premium Profile UW
  • Premium Profile CW
  • Acoustic Tape
  • Titan Screw 3.9 x 25 mm
  • Titan Screw 3.9 x 35 mm
  • Mineral Wool
  • Pencil
  • Tape Measure
  • Tin Snips
  • Drywall Screwdriver
  • Utility Knife
  • Level

Here are the steps we followed:

We start by marking the axis of the partition wall with a pencil and a tape measure. We measure and cut the peripheral UW profiles according to the desired length and tape acoustic tape along their length for better sound insulation.

We use Titan Screw 3.9 x 35 mm to fix the UW profiles to the floor and the ceiling.

We proceed to measuring and cutting the end vertical CW profile according to the desired height of the wall and tape acoustic tape along its height for better sound insulation. We fix the CW profile to the wall. The rest of the CW profiles should be 10 mm shorter than the height of the room. We put the CW profiles at a distance of 600 mm. The freestanding CW profile should be fixed to the top and bottom UW profiles. The rest of the CW profiles should only be fixed to the bottom UW profile.

Then we measure the Titan Board plasterboards which should be 10 mm shorter than the height of the room. The first layer of Titan Board should be fixed to the CW profiles with Titan screw 3.9 x 25 mm at 500 mm. The second layer of Titan Board should be fixed to the rest of the structure with Titan screw 3.9 x 35 mm at 500 mm.

We add mineral wool between the two sides of the wall for better sound and thermal insulation.

It is imperative that the vertical joints between the boards on both sides of the wall do not match.

Always start fixing the plasterboard from the end side, never from the middle and do not fix them to the UW profiles.

Using a strip of plasterboard, we close up the free end of the partition wall.
