What are the Basic Tools for Dry Construction? Part 2

In this article we give more information about some of the most fundamental tools used in dry construction.

The tools we mention in the video:

  • Banjo
  • Roller
  • Skimming Spatula
  • Drywall Sander

The drywall banjo is a tool for filling plasterboard joints for the first level of surface finishing – Q1. It allows the process of joint filling and reinforcing of the joints and inner corners with joint tape to be done simultaneously. The banjo can be used with paper and glass-fibre joint tape. First the preferred joint tape is loaded in the banjo and then the joint filled is added as well. Depending on the nature of the premise where the joints will be filled, we recommend the use of FUGA and FUGA & FINISH Light in rooms with normal humidity and FUGA Hydro with Glass-fibre joint tape in premises with high humidity.

The drywall roller is used for the application of skim coats and helps to achieve quickly and easily one of the final steps of the wall finishing – its complete skim coating. The roller comes in different dimensions and can either have a short or a long handle, depending on the needs of the project. It works perfectly with Technogips Pro ready-to-use compound – FUGA & FINISH Light.

The skimming spatula is a tool that consists of a blade with a rectangular shape and a comfortable handle along one side of its entire width. It is available in many different sizes and is used for smoothing the final layer of skim coating. The last level of surface finishing – level Q4 can be easily achieved with the help of the skimming spatula.

The drywall sander is a tool with a round shape and a long handle. A sanding disk is attached at its base and the completely dry skim coated wall is sanded down to remove any irregularities and to create a polished effect that meets the highest standards of wall surface finishing also known as level Q4.There are manual  as well as electric drywall sanders available.
